RYAN DUGRÉ
“The Humors” C37
(Bird Watcher Records)

Post-Rock, by way of jazzy guitar chords & pluckery alone, Ryan Dugré could easily have been a back-up musician for Sharks Keep Moving, back in the day. “The Humors” plays like a beatific homage to SKM and/or any number of sentimental Second Nature (or Quarter Stick!) bands that swapped that trendy screamo-ing in for a softer, cleaner, instrumental narrative, back in the 90s.

It’d be damn near impossible to offend or annoy anyone by plopping this tape in, but it might maybe remind them that Shipping News broke up, so make your judgement call accordingly. This tape is great. May I suggest you listen to loudly in a cavernous space, for best reception?!
