Hluk Zivot = Noise Life
Not for the faint of heart, this is a collection of
four harsh noise pieces recorded live at Noise Action’s Los Angeles Festival in
2015. Fairly academic, there’s scant if any harmonious tones found throughout
the entire hour, but plenty of heavily processed static and pulses to go
around. The zine it comes with is pretty rad, waxing philosophical about noise
and its relation to politics:
“Noise itself constantly dissipates, as what is
judged noise at one point is music or meaning to another. As well as this
disruptive element, noise must also be thought of as constantly failing –
failing to stay noise, as it becomes familiar, or acceptable practice.”
