For some reason, Side B of this album does it for me (tracks
10+) so much more than the first side. Maybe it’s the more adventurous backing
music (Side A has the standard R&B backing band vibe) or the grittier
issues of depression drinking & getting booted from the pub (backing music
corresponding perfectly with bar-sweaty BBKing recollections). Next follows by a song that really reminds me
of MOOD’s “Doom” album (a criminally overlooked mid-west gem with Talib Kweli
& DJ Hi-Tek strong hands in the mix) with non-western backing. There’s lush
orchestration throughout, with plenty of guests to mix it up, including a remix
with Cannibal Ox. Check out the links below.
